LEFTOVER PUFF PASTRY IDEAS
Have you ever made a pie and had some leftover bits of puff pastry dough and then popped it in the freezer for some unknown potential future purpose ?
Well here is a delicious example of what to do with it.
I rolled the leftover puff pastry out into squares then put a filling of Salami, Danish Feta and Raw Spinach with dried origanum herbs sprinkled over in one triangle of the square then covered that with the opposite triangle and pressed down the edges with a fork.
I then brushed the pastry with eggwash and baked for approx 15 minutes in a 180 deg C oven.
Other filling ideas included Cheese and Leftover Sandwich Ham with a dash of Tobasco and black Pepper
The other pieces of dough that were not large enough for the triangle pastries were turned into these mini squares and I added a slice of Danish Feta with wilted Spinach and dried origanum on top. Hubby said it was his favourite pastry I had made in ages.
The crispy Puff Pastry, Creamy Danish Feta Cheese and delicious spinach was a great combo.
